What should I do if my item is rejected?

Even the most seasoned authors face item rejections from time to time.

Items can be either soft-rejected or hard-rejected:

Soft rejected

This means your item has been declined but can still be accepted for the marketplace with a few modifications.

Hard rejected

Indicates that your item isn't suitable for sale on Mvnthemes as is. Minor adjustments won't suffice; substantial changes or additional features are necessary for it to be considered. Some products may not be appropriate for the Mvnthemes marketplace at all.

If your item is hard-rejected, avoid re-uploading it with minor alterations. However, if it's soft-rejected, making adjustments to meet the requirements shouldn't be an issue.

Upon rejection, you'll receive feedback, typically citing one of the following common reasons:

  1. Icon and preview image quality doesn't meet requirements: Ensure your images, including a 200x200 icon and a 1600x800 preview image, are of high quality and not stretched. Look at successful Mvnthemes items for inspiration.
  2. Lack of documentation: Always include comprehensive documentation; otherwise, you'll need to resubmit your item.
  3. Main file isn't a .zip: Ensure your main file is in .zip format, not .rar, for easy access by buyers.
  4. Demo includes CTA links to purchase elsewhere: Avoid redirecting Mvnthemes traffic to purchase the item elsewhere.
  5. No demo link or screenshots provided: Themes and HTML templates require at least screenshots or a demo link for listing.
  6. Unauthorized sale rights: Selling others' work as your own will result in a ban. Accidental infringements may result in a warning and an opportunity to rectify the issue.
  7. Item unsuitable for sale: This is a hard-rejection due to low quality or unsuitability. Major changes are necessary for reconsideration.

Avoid resubmitting your item with minor changes after a hard rejection.
